Autumn to winter. poem

Its autumn and nights grow cool

darkness falls, leaves have refreshed the soil

for next year, in comes the dry grass

called hay from the fields for winter fodder

crops of grain,barley and wheat

birds fly away to a warmer climate, ponds

freeze over, wind blows, snow falls

hales and storms rage, creatures go under ground

fields are covered in frost sparkling like

diamonds, the farm house log fire flickers on the window

giving a welcome sign to all passing.
